President of Graduate Students in Mass Communications Association (GSMCA). (2012-2013)

GSMCA’s vice president of international affairs (2011-2012)

During my first year as a doctoral student, I served as the vice president of international relations for GSMCA. As one of the five members, I strive to contribute by making an effort to welcome international students at the College of Journalism and Communication. My responsibilities include bringing the graduate student perspective to meetings of the International Communication Committee, where I am privileged to watch and take notes as the college’s outstanding professors set out tasks to turn their vision of our college into a reality.
One event in which I was an active participant was the college’s holiday party in December 2011. In addition to inviting students and faculty to enjoy light snacks, the GSMCA decided to participate in a toy drive. Included in this page are pictures that demonstrate the success of our efforts.holiday party
